NWS confirms EF-1 tornado touched down in northwest Bexar County on Wednesday

Those across South Central Texas are encouraged to pay close attention to the weather

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down in northwest Bexar County on Wednesday morning.

Peak winds up to 100 mph were estimated in some spots.

The NWS said the tornado began around two miles southwest of the Interstate 10 and Loop 1604 interchange, dissipating just north of The Rim.

San Antonio residents and those across South Central Texas are encouraged to pay close attention to the weather.

Flooding remains the primary concern for San Antonio residents through Thursday.
